Whitehouse report

Well, this week has short time to email also, but...

Now I'm pretty fluent in Portuguese. It's nice. I only have problems now whenever I try to talk really specifically. My accent's terrible, well, not terrible, but I hope that in  7 months my accent will be able to be like a Brazilian's. Right now, I'm reading in a book that the mission president gave all of us to read, The Power of the Member Missionary. It's a white book with blue borders. Here we travel by bus and foot. We walk everywhere and if we have a meeting elsewhere in the city we use the bus. Also, if we are transferred we travel by charter bus. It's pretty sweet.

But I never have enough time to email, so have a great week!

Here's some water fountains from Brazil, called filters! They're way weaker than in the US.

Whitehouse Report

Soo, there's ice pops here that are really cool to eat. They're called juju. And you bite the bottom tip of a bag thing and eat it. It's pretty good.

Also, I was able to get some pics of the cool birds!

Some really cool people came to church this past Sunday, a mother and her son. They are really elect! They came to church by themselves without us needing to do anything! I'm pretty sure they are going to baptize themselves.

Well, this past week was really awesome, but time is short so bye!

Whitehouse Report

This past week was really, really cool!

I've decided to change it up with talking about everyday things in Brazil that are different b/c I've run out of things to say, but......

There are some really cool colored birds that are green that are all over the place. I think they're macaws or in the same family. They fly over us all the time in the road and they squawk.
Elder C. and I are working a lot in our area and we are seeing many miracles and people progressing! We're teaching this really cool guy called C. and his sister Cl. and they're way cool! Cl. has gone to church twice and has gone from smoking 5 cigarettes a day to one a week! and his sister has been to church once and is really solid for being baptized soon.

check it! a jw gave us lots of literature!!

Also, we were able to see a miracle this past week! We started teaching a guy 3 weeks ago and he went to church twice. then this past week, he started working
in a meat processing plant and has crazy hours, but we were able to meet with him this past Thursday and prep him for baptism, then he was interviewed Friday, then baptized on Saturday, and confirmed on Saturday!! He pretty much baptized himself and we're really happy for him!!!

Also here's a pic of everyone in our district at lunch with a member!

White House Branch #9

I thought it was cool that dad always jokes about the whitehouse things, so I've decided to experiment with different ways to use it!

Well, our branch here is really awesome! The members are giving us tons of references and helping us out in pretty much any way we need. The members here help more than any other ward that I've been in and we have the work here to be able to utilize all of them.
Also, we're opening the area here, so it was a fun last two weeks trying to navigate around our area. Also, here there are a lot of elect and ready people that are ready to be baptized. I'm excited for that!

So we camped out in a house for a few days when we arrived here and after we moved into the sister's house and they moved to a different house. It's been pretty cool here, but food is a little more expensive here than in other cities, but it's okay because of how the members are feeding us!

In Brazil they play the game Ninja!! (where you slap each others hands and if you touch their hand they're out) and also, here they play 21! but it's a very wishy washy version of 21 that is kinda lame without much competition. But times up, see ya!
